First Listen: Glen Hansard's new one

Seems like I never get to this site before they take all the cool albums down, so I thought I'd let you know they're featuring Glen Hansard's new album, Rhythm and Repose right now. He's the guy from the movie Once, and then he was the Still Frames (pretty sure that was the name).

Fiona Apple's new albums up there too, but I have a feeling I'm the only one into that ;). She's got some great, simple, really soulful tracks on there.

I'm also really loving this new guy Kishi Bashi, a violinist who does some cool things with loops. Here's his Tiny Desk Concert:

And I really love this new song by Regina Spektor, "All the Rowboats".

Well, all I got right now is music from All Songs Considered, so sorry Mike if you already knew about all these! Hope you guys are finding great music out there!

  1. First let me say I'm so glad the Raspberry is back!

Great post Jen. I heard Kishi Bashi on an older ASC podcast but I really love this Tiny Desk Concert. I'm also a big fan of the new Regina Spektor song, and always find myself loving her music even though I don't know much about her. I'm excited to try out the new Glen Hansard. You and I both really like the Once soundtrack (mostly) and Seven Day Mile (by the Frames) is a song I listed to over and over and over...love it.

Thanks again Jen. As the least frequest contributer to this blog in the past let me just say I hope we start getting more posts again. For my part I'll try to post more often. I've been formulating one post in my head for two years now so maybe...
